Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce

President's Message March 20009

Before you know it a hint of spring will be in the air. And with that the Chamber's busy season is about to blossom. Our semi annual Townwide Garage Sale is set for April 18th and the monthly Cruise Nights rev up on the first Wednesday of each month through October. The Memorial Day Parade will step off on May 25th followed the next Sunday, the 31st, by the 13th Annual Spring Street Fair. Of course there is the Junebug Artfest every friday during June that brings artists and art lovers together. Wow, what a schedule! There's plenty to do in Metuchen in the Spring. We have already stated the year off right. The Installation Dinner Dance was a great success, in spite of the weather. And the 2nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast was a truly inspirational event. And next year's will be even better. Unfortunately there is a cloud over Main St. these days. With the downturn in the economy many of our Chamber members are feeling the pinch. That's why it is so vital to shop Metuchen first. And not just the downtown retailers, but all the Chamber members in town. If you need a service professional check the web site for member listings. They are listed by name and by business category. By patronizing our members you are indirectly supporting the Chamber which, in turn, supports our business community and enables us to bring you all the wonderful events mentioned above. A vital business community helps make our town a desirable place to live. So, go out and enjoy the warm weather. Enjoy the events the Chamber brings you and have a great Spring!
