Renovation begins at Edison Museum in Menlo Park

On Monday July 26, the contractor began work on the renovation of the museum at Menlo Park. The work underway includes providing new heating and central air (better for the artifacts as well as people!), upgrading the lighting, installing new flooring, repairing and painting the interior and exterior, and providing a barrier-free entrance and restroom and a dedicated handicapped parking space to better accommodate persons with disabilities. This work is the first major renovation project for the 70 year old building! Construction is anticipated to take approximately 2 months. While the work is being done, the Edison Memorial Tower Corporation is busy working on new exhibits to be installed when the museum reopens in the fall.
