According to an article posted in the Edison/Metuchen Sentinel on July 6, “The operation, Middlesex County Food Organization and Outreach Distribution Services (MCFOODS), which collects and distributes food to more than 70 pantries and soup kitchens countywide, is running out of supplies quickly.” Martin & Son Jewelers will be sponsoring a Community Food Drive to help M.C.F.O.O.D.S. from now through November 24th. For every donation, you will receive a free watch battery or Jewelry Clean & Steam (1 per customer). We will be collecting non-perishable items, especially canned goods. We cannot accept glass items or perishable or frozen foods. Your donation will benefit less fortunate county residents through M.C.F.O.O.D.S. There are over 60 food pantries and soup kitchens throughout the county in the M.C.F.O.O.D.S. network and some of the most needed items include: cereal, tuna fish, rice, canned vegetables, stew, peanut butter, snacks and personal products including toothpaste, shampoo, diapers and wipes. Your help is really appreciated!
